McCody is a manufacturing, retail and
service company with an interest base in concrete and construction. McCody is
dedicated to providing quality products and excellence in customer service
while exploring potential growth and diversification.
Williston Ready Mix and Williston Precast were
established in May of 1976. Williston Ready Mix specialized in residential and
commercial ready mix concrete and Williston Precast specialized in oil field
precast products.
Williston Ready Mix and Williston Precast were acquired in 1999 by Bob and
Denise Horab, and merged to form McCody Concrete Products, Inc. At the time,
there were only four employees. Today, McCody still produces ready mix and
precast products, has expanded to include a diverse array of products and
services directly correlated with the company’s origins, and employs a team of
over eighty.
In October 2008, McCody acquired Cactus Concrete of Williston to which all
ready mix production was moved. The plant was converted to a computerized
batching system in June 2010. Roughrider Doors was purchased in January 2011, expanding
the capabilities of the construction division with overhead door sales and
services, and adding a third location.
Construction
of McCody’s main facility in Williston began in 2010 and was completed in 2015.
Occupancy began in 2012, which increased precast production space by more than
six-fold and consolidated a majority of the personnel. Future plans include
emphasizing the retail product lines currently carried and diversifying
further with related concrete and construction products.
Groundbreaking
for a new central and dry-mix batch plant and precast facility began the spring
of 2014. This plant will utilize the latest technology in batching controls, systems
monitoring, and product tracking, as well as an in-house testing lab to confirm
consistent QA/QC and frequent production testing. It will be the most
sophisticated batching facility in the region assuring controlled quality for
demanding customers. Completion of this facility will further consolidate the
Williston operations to a single location.
Growth
has continued outside of North Dakota with the addition of McCody Inc. in
Washington, established 2014, and a McCody branch in Colorado in 2015. These
locations feature select products and services.
