Precast Concrete Foreman

Job Summary:
The Precast Shop Foreman will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, including the safety and efficiency of personnel, equipment, and processes. The Precast Shop Foreman will work closely with the Precast Shop Manager and other personnel to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner and that production runs smoothly. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to motivate and manage personnel.

Essential Roles, Responsibilities, and Duties:
The basic responsibilities of the Oilfield & Industrial Precast Manager includes, but is not limited to the following:
1. Oversee the shop personnel and equipment, ensuring that all operations are being carried out in accordance with company policies and safety regulations
2. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report conditions that are not correctable to manager and safety coordinator immediately
3. Ensure that production is running efficiently and that all materials and products meet quality standards
4. Train and supervise shop personnel, providing guidance and feedback with documentation as needed
5. Establish priorities; monitor the progress of projects and ensure that deadlines are met
6. Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained
7. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise
8. Evaluate shop procedures and systems; measure results against standards; continually develop more efficient methods of conducting shop processes; submit improved method suggestions to upper management for evaluation; implement approved process methods
9. Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed
10. Perform physical inventory counts and compile reports as requested
11. Use basic construction knowledge to draw and fabricate concrete forms and components to specifications
12. Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of operations
13. Prepare, review, keep record, and submit for processing documentation daily (coding item receipts and bills, customer sales orders, equipment inspection and repair reports, time sheets)
14. Create, distribute, and carry out production and personnel schedules
15. Assist customers in order fulfillment through various methods
16. Assist personnel and customers in contacting the appropriate personnel concerning questions and documents
17. Provide general support to visitors
18. Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
19. Work with personnel on the production floor to carry out daily operations
20. Inspect, secure, and maintain the upkeep and appearance of facility, yard, equipment, and tools in a safe operating condition; conduct and assist others in maintenance and repair of facility and equipment
21. Fill in for positions normally reporting to Precast Shop Foreman during absences, intermediary position vacancies, during slow or idle periods, and as needed
22. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

23. High school diploma or equivalent
24. Concrete and/or precast concrete experience preferred
25. Sufficient knowledge of concrete properties and performance under specific and adverse weather and climate conditions
26. Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role preferred
27. Articulately communicate efficiently, tactfully and professionally with customers and company personnel
28. Detailed organization
29. Ability to multitask
30. Able to motivate and manage personnel
31. Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
32. Ability to take the initiative to increase the quality of one’s skills to become more efficient
33. Make good judgment calls when under pressure
34. Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards
35. Knowledge of shop equipment and tools
36. Knowledge of load distribution for transport

Skills:
37. Read, write, and speak English
38. Apply proficient computer skills
39. Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, user instructions, procedure, operating and maintenance manuals, and engineering specifications
40. Perform mathematical functions pertaining to estimates, volumes, quantities, etc.
41. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
42. Ability to compute ratio and percent
43. Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions
44. Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in daily productions
